Survey on the effects of EU Compliance on Organic Smallholders

Survey for certified organic small-scale producer organisations and exporters of smallholder crops in Non-EU countries

The transition to EU Organic Regulation 2018/848 and the upcoming EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) present significant structural and financial challenges for smallholder value chains. This survey provides the foundation for the study "Securing Organic Cacao Supply Chains," by FiBL and Fairtrade International, supported by the Swiss Platform for Sustainable Cocoa (SWISSCO) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). While this project aims to develop mitigation strategies to stabilize organic cocoa exports, we are using the opportunity to collect also much need impact data across other organic smallholder crops (coffee, tropical fruits, nuts, etc.).

Your participation provides the essential evidence needed to document the impact of the new rules on the organic sector in the Global South. This data will be instrumental in informing fair pricing discussions and supporting EU policy dialogues regarding the simplification and practical implementation of these regulations over the coming years.

Target Respondents: Representatives of organic producer organizations and exporters with associated smallholders in non-EU countries
